In 2011, a few local General Contractors decided that collectively they had much to gain by merging their companies together, with the staff, equipment, tools and knowledge between them, DJM Contracting Ltd. was born. This combining of resources allowed DJM Contracting to focus on larger commercial and institutional projects and still continue with their expertise in quality custom home projects and extensive renovations. The merge also gave them opportunities to spread their resources throughout the Kootenays and Okanagan.

DJM Contracting’s progressive pursuit in delivering not only high quality products, but also the best owner experience from pre-construction to delivery, is what they have built their success and reputation on in a few short years.

FOUNDATION

DJM Contracting currently employs 15-35 qualified Carpenters and 4 full time office staff which allows the owners to aggressively pursue new projects while managing project sites and continuing with educational industry wide development. Continual improvement and development of processes within the company helps DJM to deliver the ultimate customer experience offering lump sum contracting, general contracting, design build and construction management.

With the ability to perform many aspects of the construction process in house, DJM has tradespeople that perform scopes of work such as concrete, framing, finishing work and exterior cladding. DJM offers diversity in their projects and services with the focus on a client’s vision and overall satisfaction.

  • Justin Tanguay

    Principal

    Justin’s extensive background and education in construction and business stem back many generations and his passions in life have always been in the building industry. Justin’s previous construction company, Solstice Construction, helped pave the way to what would become DJM Contracting Ltd. Justin’s analytical mind and attention to detail help him oversee cost control, estimating and scheduling, while ensuring complete client satisfaction from beginning to end of every project. Justin is able to find the perfect balance of managing family life here in Rossland with his wife and 2 young daughters, while maintaining his responsibility of being President of a quickly growing progressive construction company.

  • Mark Daugherty

    Principal

    Mark has had the fortunate experience of growing up and being mentored by his Father to learn and practice many design, building techniques and trends which grew into his passion and commitment to a lifelong career in construction and his incredible reputation of delivering quality and craftsmanship. Mark’s previous company, Taurus Construction, served the local area of Rossland for several years before merging into DJM Contracting Ltd. and he has an extensive background in project management on both commercial and residential projects.Mark’s passion for the outdoors and commitment to his family make the Rossland area the perfect place for himto pursue his career while taking advantage of the outdoor activities he and his young family enjoy.
